Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Relief Spark!

Relief Spark specializes in small groups providing a personable, hands-on approach to daily volunteer activities and nightly entertainment - providing the perfect setting for a volunteer to truly get to know New Orleans on every aspect.

Our volunteer programs are the programs with our non-profit partners and can vary from day-to-day or you may choose the same program each day of your stay. It's your choice as a volunteer.

Below is additional information on each aspect of our program:

HOUSING
We house all volunteers in homes situated in family neighborhoods. The houses are simply furnished - cots in sleeping areas and tables and chairs in dining. Outdoor areas may have outdoor furniture and a grill. All housing offers central air and heat and is all yours during your stay.

MEALS
We purchase groceries before your arrival and it is up to you to prepare your own breakfast and lunch each day of your stay. However, for dinner, we have a professional chef (from a local popular restaurant) who serves buffet style good ole' Southern food. More information regarding meals is available in our paperwork that we send to each person submitting a volunteer request.

SAFETY GEAR/TOOLS
Anything that you may need while you are volunteering with us is provided. The only thing you will need to bring is a pair of work boots or some other hard sole shoe.

TRANSPORTATION
We can provide your group with transportation provided by our partnership with Enterprise Leasing. We hire local drivers who carry a CDL and all of our vehicles are insured with the highest available commercial coverage. If you are interested in more details regarding our transportation package, please let us know in your volunteer request and we will forward information to you.

WORK SCHEDULE
Most of our programs begin at 9am and conclude 4/5pm - Monday - Friday. We do not work on Saturday's or Sunday's, instead we take volunteers to festivals, concerts, theater productions or some other local special event.

ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE
After submitting your volunteer request, we will send to you an Entertainment Schedule along with other information regarding our program. This schedule is a line up of nightly activities that your group can attend and/or participate in. Most activities will have no additional cost while others may. Activities range from concerts, to jazz performances, Audubon Zoo/Aquarium/Insectarium, Audubon Park Crawfish Boil, The Fly BBQ, rebuilding tour, Guest Speakers, House of Blues, Tipitina's, Ghost Tours of the French Quarter, Mardi Gras parades, concerts in parks - or anything else that we find as value to you as a tourist AND volunteer during your time with us!

GENERAL
Due to the popularity of our program, we will only accept 20 volunteers per week and/or one school group. We do not accommodate single volunteers, however we do accept groups of 5 or more - so grab your friends and come out to volunteer with us! The Relief Spark Experience is open to high school, college and adult volunteers. The minimum age to volunteer is 14; while the minimum age to rebuild is 16. *We can accommodate families and young children - please let us know via your volunteer request.
